Acne Remedies
Adult Acne can be caused by an excess of sebum on the skin, which comes from the expansion of oil glands. This excess sebum then gets trapped in hair follicles and clogs up the pores. These clogged pores then allow the growth of bacteria, in particular the growth of propionibacterium acnes which leads to the appearance of acne. The causes of acne are not exactly known and acne can affect different people in different ways.
Acne can be caused by a number of things, but no one knows for certain what causes the skin condition. Hormonal imbalances are one such suggestion, as are factors such as diet, vitamin deficiency and stress levels.
Research has shown that the reduction of sebum and keratin production is linked to the level of vitamin A in a sufferers body. For this reason it is important to keep your body well balanced with plenty of vitamin A. You can do this by eating at least five portions of fruits and vegetables every day.
Something that is linked to the above information about vitamin A is zinc. Zinc helps with the effectiveness of vitamin A and therefore is great for healing and repair of acne damaged skin.
Also note that there are some over the counter creams and treatments available which can help with the control of your acne. Creams that contain sulphur are known to be very effective. Take advantage of advice available to you from your local chemist or Doctor, seek their advice on what cream could be best suited to your condition. Try to avoid any creams or other treatments that contain bromide and iodide because they can increase the inflammation and cause you more discomfort.

Also remember your diet, there are a number of things that you can make an effort to avoid in an attempt to help your acne. There are a number of natural acne treatments which can be good for you, they come with the added bonus that the risk of side effects is very small in comparison to more orthodox medical products. They may not be as effective quite as quick as regular products but could have a positive effect over a period of time. Is has been shown that tea tree oils reduce acne because they have properties that are antibacterial and anti fungal and therefore will help as a natural acne treatment.
However the main problem with acne is that without knowing the exact causes, it can be hard to find the right remedy. However there are a variety of herbal remedies for acne which have been known to work extremely well.
